How to play Ashe — Wild Rift guide, combos & tips

Ashe, the Frost Archer, is one of the most approachable marksmen in Wild Rift - a ranged AD carry built around constant slows and long-range utility rather than raw burst. Every basic attack chips away at her target's movement speed, and her ultimate can stun an enemy from clear across the map, so she wins fights through control and positioning as much as through damage. She's an easy pickup for anyone learning the marksman role, yet her slow-and-poke playstyle still scales into a genuine late-game threat.

Strengths

  • Frost Shot slows on every single hit, giving her elite kiting power and peel for a champion with zero dashes or blinks.
  • Enchanted Crystal Arrow (R) is a global, player-steered stun that can zone a target, pick off an overextended carry, or open a teamfight from off-screen.
  • Volley (W) lets her poke and clear waves from max range, so she rarely has to enter risky melee trades to stay relevant.
  • Very low skill floor - a simple attack-move-attack rhythm and forgiving cooldowns make her one of the friendliest marksmen to pick up.

Weaknesses

  • No dash, blink, or self-peel of any kind - once someone reaches her, Frost Shot's slow is her only defense.
  • Critical strikes only strengthen her slow instead of her damage, so she trades away some of the raw burst other ADCs get from crit itemization.
  • Ranger's Focus (Q) needs 4 stacks of autoattacks before it can even be cast, so her attack-speed window is slower to access than an instant-cast tool.
  • Enchanted Crystal Arrow has real travel time and can be sidestepped, blocked by minions, or eaten by projectile-negating abilities.

Combos

Skill order: W > Q > E (level R whenever it's available)

Early game

Play a patient poke-and-farm lane: use Volley to chip health and clear waves from range, and only step in to autoattack when it's safe, since every hit builds Ranger's Focus and applies your passive slow. Because you have no escape tool, treat Hawkshot as a proactive scouting habit rather than a reaction - send it down the river or into common gank spots before you extend, not after you're already being dove. Your first real power spike lands once you can reliably chain Ranger's Focus alongside your first attack-speed item, so avoid forcing early all-ins and instead out-farm and out-range your lane opponent.

Mid & late game — teamfighting

From the mid game onward, Ashe fights from maximum range, letting the constant slow from Frost Shot keep divers at arm's length instead of relying on any mobility of her own. Enchanted Crystal Arrow is her biggest teamfight swing - fire it just before the fight fully commits to stun an overextended carry or the enemy's main engage threat, since a long-range hit can lock a target down for up to 3.5 seconds and single-handedly decide the outcome. Stay tucked behind your frontline, autoattack whichever priority target you can safely reach and slow, and keep in mind that whiffing R leaves you contributing little more than chip damage for the rest of the fight.
