How to play Corki — Wild Rift guide, combos & tips
Corki is a hybrid Marksman in Wild Rift who trades the pure auto-attack identity of most ADCs for a poke-and-burst kit: Phosphorus Bomb and Valkyrie chip away at range with magic damage, while his passive true damage and Gatling Gun let him win prolonged trades and duels. He's a lane bully early and a long-range siege and pick threat later on, making him a great pick for players who'd rather fight than just kite.
Strengths
- Excellent early lane presence: Phosphorus Bomb pokes safely from range and reveals whichever champion it hits, so you rarely trade blind.
- Passive true damage on every auto-attack and on-hit effect, plus Gatling Gun's armor and magic resist shred, let him shred tanks and bruisers that usually shut down other marksmen.
- A mixed magic, physical, and true damage profile is awkward for the enemy team to itemize against, since no single resistance stat covers all of it.
- Missile Barrage's stacking charges give him long-range poke and burst most marksmen simply don't have, ideal for sieging towers and starting picks.
Weaknesses
- Low base survivability: he's one of the squishiest Marksmen stat-wise and folds fast if caught with Valkyrie down.
- Missile Barrage's charges take 16 seconds to refill and only speed up when you land autos on champions, so an emptied ultimate leaves him without his best poke and burst tool.
- Valkyrie is a short repositioning burst, not a true escape: hard engage or dash-heavy assassins like Zed or Yasuo can still close the gap and punish him.
- Gatling Gun needs to channel for its full duration to pay off, so firing it at the wrong moment can get him deleted before it finishes.
Combos
- Q into auto-attacks into E: Phosphorus Bomb pokes and reveals the target, then Gatling Gun's sustained fire and resistance shred wins the extended trade.
- W through the target into E: fly Valkyrie's burn zone onto the enemy, then immediately channel Gatling Gun so both damage sources overlap on the same target.
- Auto-weave to refresh R, then unload: every auto-attack on a champion cuts 2 seconds off Missile Barrage's cooldown, so keep autoing between pokes to have all 4 charges, including a Big One, ready for a pick or siege.
- Full all-in: Q to poke and reveal, W onto the target, E to shred and DPS, R to finish. The standard kill combo once Missile Barrage charges are up and the target is isolated.
Skill order: E > Q > W (max Gatling Gun first for lane trading power, Phosphorus Bomb second for poke scaling, Valkyrie last since it's mainly a repositioning tool) — always level Missile Barrage first at 5/9/13.
Early game
Open trades with Phosphorus Bomb to poke and reveal the enemy duo before you commit; the vision it grants on hit tells you whether it's actually safe to walk up. When they engage or stand still to last-hit, follow up with autos and Gatling Gun. The armor and magic resist shred plus his true damage passive usually win the extended exchange. Manage your Missile Barrage charges carefully: don't dump all four into the wave, and weave autos onto enemy champions whenever you trade so the charges refresh faster. Hold Valkyrie in lane rather than burning it for chip damage; it's your only tool to dodge an all-in or escape a gank.
Mid & late game — teamfighting
By the mid game Corki becomes a backline siege and poke threat: stay at max range, chip with Phosphorus Bomb and Missile Barrage before the fight starts, and save Gatling Gun's channel for a target you can either kill or safely disengage from. Valkyrie is your positioning tool in fights, use it to angle around your own frontline or slip out of a flank, not as your opening move. Once the fight is on, target whichever squishy carry is closest or most exposed; between the true damage passive and the armor and magic resist shred, Corki deletes priority targets fast once his autos and Gatling Gun connect.
Pro tips
- Weave a basic attack in whenever you can between abilities: it shaves 2 seconds off Missile Barrage's cooldown, so you get far more R usage than the base recharge suggests.
- Use Phosphorus Bomb to clear bushes and river before committing to fights, dives, or objectives; the reveal is often as valuable as the damage.
- Resist the urge to Valkyrie the instant someone dashes at you. Baiting their gap-closer out first often means you don't need Valkyrie to escape at all, so you can save it for later in the fight.
