How to play Fiora — Wild Rift guide, combos & tips
Fiora, the Grand Duelist, is a duelist Fighter in Wild Rift built around winning isolated fights rather than group skirmishes. Her damage blends physical scaling from Bladework's empowered auto-attacks with percent-max-HP true damage from breaking an enemy's Vitals, so she threatens squishies and stacked tanks in equal measure. She's a momentum champion who thrives on repeated dashes and parries, rewarding players who can read a 1v1 instead of leaning on point-and-click tools.
Strengths
- Breaking a Vital deals true damage based on the target's max HP and grants a burst of decaying movement speed, so Fiora keeps threatening armor-stacked tanks and juggernauts that shrug off other Fighters.
- Riposte can swallow an entire engage: 0.75 seconds of immunity to damage and crowd control turns a bad fight into a won one, and if what she blocked was a root, her counter-thrust stuns instead of just slowing.
- Landing Lunge refunds half its cooldown, so a clean read lets her chain dashes to stick to a target or escape a losing fight.
- Popping a Vital heals her on top of the true damage, giving Fiora real sustain in extended trades without needing outside support.
Weaknesses
- Riposte only blocks once: ranged harassers and kiting champions like Vayne can bait it out from range and punish the long cooldown that follows.
- Guaranteed, point-and-click crowd control (Renekton's stun is the textbook example) skips the guessing game Riposte depends on and just lands.
- Every point of her damage needs melee range, so she can be zoned out of a fight before Duelist's Dance ever marks a Vital.
- A whiffed Lunge or an early Riposte leaves her with no defensive tools for several seconds, which coordinated dives punish hard.
Combos
- Q into AA, then E into two more autos — Lunge closes the gap (and refunds its cooldown if it connects), a single auto keeps the Vital timer ticking, and Bladework's attack-speed buff turns the next two hits into a slow followed by a guaranteed crit.
- W as an opener, not just an answer — dashing in with Riposte first blocks whatever spell or hit lands in that instant, then slows (or stuns, if it blocked a root) the first enemy her counter-thrust connects with, all before she's spent Q or E.
- R onto a target, then chase Vitals with Q and autos — Grand Challenge marks all four Vitals at once, and Lunge automatically seeks out any Vital it can break; clearing all four adds a true damage burst worth 14% of the target's max HP on top of the healing zone for you and nearby allies.
- A refunded Q into a second Q — since a landed Lunge gives back half its cooldown, use the reset to finish a fleeing target or dash to safety around cover.
Skill order: Q > E > W (max R whenever it's available)
Early game
In lane, Fiora wants to fight on her own terms: trade when Duelist's Dance has a Vital ready, using Lunge to dash in (refunding itself on a hit) before following up with autos to pop it for the true damage and healing. Hold Riposte for the opponent's real cooldown or all-in rather than throwing it in for a random poke — it's most valuable as an answer to hard CC, not chip damage. Push and freeze the wave around her own trading windows, and look for a real fight once she has W online at level 2 and again at level 5 when Grand Challenge comes up. A first-back Trinity Force (or Blade of the Ruined King into tankier lanes) is usually the point where her trades start snowballing.
Mid & late game — teamfighting
Past the laning phase, Fiora is a flanker, not a frontline brawler — she wants to reach an isolated target through a side lane or river bush rather than walk into the middle of a 5v5. Riposte should be saved to blank the first peel spell or CC aimed at her so she can actually reach her target and finish the duel; once there, Grand Challenge on the biggest threat she can safely reach guarantees Vitals to break, stacking true damage while healing nearby allies in the process. Because that ultimate heals her team as well as her, using it near an ongoing skirmish is often better than chasing an isolated pick too far from the fight. Target priority stays simple: whoever she can solo fastest, or whoever is the scariest threat if she can get there safely.
Pro tips
- Only commit to a fight when Duelist's Dance actually has a Vital marked — dueling without it up throws away a big chunk of her damage, sustain, and mobility.
- Treat Riposte as a resource for hard crowd control, not for trading damage — burning it early against a champion like Jax or Renekton often means eating their real combo with nothing left to answer it.
- Pick ultimate targets you can realistically stick to for the full 8 seconds and land all four Vitals on — a rushed Grand Challenge on the wrong target wastes both the true damage nuke and the team heal.
