How to play Samira — Wild Rift guide, combos & tips
Samira, the Desert Rose, is a melee-range marksman (ADC) in Wild Rift built around chaining different basic attacks and abilities into a rising Style grade instead of the usual poke-and-kite ADC pattern. She deals almost entirely physical damage through autos and Flair, uses Wild Rush to dive straight onto priority targets, and only unlocks her devastating ultimate once she's proven she can string a clean combo together. She's a rewarding hypercarry for players who want an aggressive, combo-driven bot laner rather than a safe one.
Strengths
- The Style system rewards good mechanics - alternating autos and abilities instead of repeating one move builds toward S-rank fast, granting bonus move speed along the way and unlocking Inferno Trigger sooner than most marksmen reach their power spikes.
- Blade Whirl gives her a built-in answer to poke and skillshots, destroying every enemy projectile around her for a moment - something almost no other marksman can do for themselves.
- Wild Rush resets its cooldown on takedowns, so a single pick in a skirmish can chain straight into a second or third dash onto the next target.
- Once she hits S-rank and Inferno Trigger comes online, every one of its ten shots can crit - a grouped enemy team can be deleted in about two seconds.
Weaknesses
- She needs to actually reach point-blank range to matter - stuck at auto-attack range without landing abilities in melee, she's just a mediocre AD carry.
- Her ultimate is gated behind reaching S-rank Style, so a clumsy opening trade or a lane where she can't safely engage leaves her without Inferno Trigger exactly when a fight breaks out.
- Almost no utility for her team - no shield, no heal, no hard crowd control to hand out, everything she does is self-focused damage.
- Hard crowd control and long-range poke that stop her from closing the gap shut her combo down completely before she ever gets going.
Combos
- Wild Rush (E) into a basic attack into Flair (Q) - dash onto an isolated target, weave in an auto, then fire Flair (or slash the cone if you're already in melee range) to keep both damage and your Style grade climbing.
- Blade Whirl (W) into a basic attack into Flair (Q) - when you're already surrounded or being focused, spin first to shred incoming projectiles, then keep alternating your remaining tools so your Style progress doesn't stall.
- Inferno Trigger (R) into Flair (Q) - once your grade is S and the ultimate is firing, casting Flair mid-channel turns it into a piercing line shot that hits everyone in its path instead of just the first target, layering extra damage on top of the barrage.
- Wild Rush (E), takedown, Wild Rush (E) again - every kill during or right after the dash refreshes its cooldown, so a clean skirmish can carry you from one low-health target straight onto the next.
Skill order: Q > E > W (max Inferno Trigger, R, whenever it's available)
Early game
In lane, lead with Flair (Q) as your main poke and wave-clear tool while you look for a real window to commit, since Samira wants to eventually fight at point-blank range rather than kite forever. Weave autos and abilities into different inputs instead of repeating the same one twice - only fresh actions push your Style grade toward S. Hold Blade Whirl for the moment your opponent commits their key poke or all-in, since shredding it can win the trade on its own, and only send Wild Rush across the wave when a kill is realistic, because a whiffed dash leaves you stranded with nothing to defend yourself. Your first real power spike arrives once you have enough attack speed and damage to open trades in melee range and still come out ahead.
Mid & late game — teamfighting
From the mid game on, your job is to dash through a fight rather than kite from the back line - look for a flank or choke point where Wild Rush can land you on an isolated backline target, then chain autos and abilities to push your grade to S before unloading Inferno Trigger on the grouped enemy team. If you're already at S when you ultimate, weaving in Flair mid-channel turns it into a piercing shot for extra single-target damage on top of the barrage. Save Blade Whirl for the exact moment burst or hard CC is about to land on you - it buys the half-second you need to keep dashing instead of dying. Chase resets instead of retreating: every takedown refreshes Wild Rush, so one good fight can carry you from the enemy carry to their support in a single unbroken combo.
Pro tips
- Never queue the same input twice in a row if you can help it - plan one step ahead so autos and abilities alternate cleanly and your Style grade keeps climbing toward S.
- Use Wild Rush on enemy structures when there's no safe champion target nearby - it still counts as an action for your Style meter and repositions you for free.
- Pick up Galeforce for a second dash of your own - it pairs perfectly with Wild Rush's kill-resets to keep you chaining from target to target in a skirmish.
